| billyg93: very true though i tend to not like keeping my feet down all the time if i'm in a real fight cause i like to throw front kicks so i stay on the ball of my feet though staying heals down isn't a bad thing either all depends who you're fighting i guess | billyg93: totally agree with you i do vee jitsu which is basically no holds bared jitsu so eye gouging biting and wht not is taught there. bjj is also good i tried it out a feww times and want to actually lear it jsut for the fun of it and maybe do a little competition but it isn't practical in the streets at all people just think it is because its in ufc |
| garyfox89: it's known as kuzushi spelling might be wrong | Mpafiaris88: dobberdoss go for some box style art now .. cause jiu jitsu is really closer to aikido ... muay thai on the other hand will be a totally new experience . |
| willymunroe: yes bjj is a sport and jjj is a combat self defence combat but bjj being a sport and the only sport where you are able to train 100 all the time against your training partner it had been refined over the years to become the most superior martial art do date in . the point is jjj looks good but bjj is good | richp860: a bjj guy would attempt a takedown, and end up with his eyes gouged out, fingers broken, or something far worse.. bjj is a sport, jjj is for combat. bjj has great foundational techniques though, but 99.9 of bjj is taught for sport.. which can get you killed. |
| richp860: aikido comes from jutsu it is just a little bit more energy based, or 'aiki'. | richp860: it's all jutsu judo comes from jutsu.. anything done in judo was done in jutsu. |
| richp860: grapplers learn to break posture before apply a takedown.. the way boxers distribute their weight makes them easy to take down, in my experience. | Wanez87: we have the hard techniques to kill some but they wouldn't show them at a examination for the dan lol... |
| darklordofspawn: yeah alright i get you now. thanx for the explanation | garyfox89: don't know, don't live in nelson |
| garyfox89: think about it, if you saw some sharp flying objects coming at you and a couple of them hit don't you think it would stun you a bit | dobberdoss: why is there no jj club in nelson any ideas love to train. ive done aikido and tkd for over 20 years, time for a change. |
| darklordofspawn: physically stun someone as in, throwing it at them so it hits them or stun as in visually distract or both | garyfox89: depends on the crowd ur demonstrating to |
| garyfox89: more of a method to stun somebody | darklordofspawn: so they arent even used to kill or hurt people at all thats kinda lame lol |
| shakisho1: a demonstration is using it like you would in real life, you dont just go up to your opponet casually and lightly tap them in the face having them go down. | garyfox89: that's the attitude right there, go get em tiger |
| garyfox89: lol this guy cracks me up | garyfox89: that's hollywood for ya, don't get that and real life mixed up |
| garyfox89: many hours of practice | garyfox89: tae kwon do is a cool sport |
| garyfox89: a lot of aikido practitioners also crosstrain in jj or judo |
